What is freeze-dried candy?
Freeze-dried candy is confectionery/lollies that has undergone a process called lyophilization. In this process, the candy is frozen and then placed in a vacuum environment where the frozen water content sublimates, transitioning directly from a solid to a gas. This leaves behind a crispy, airy texture while preserving the candy's flavor. The ingredients and contents remain largely the same except for the water content that has been removed. Some candy does not require to be frozen due to their low water content. Candy can take anywhere from 2 hours to 16 hours to ensure a crunchy and airy product that will retain its shape and texture!

What is the shelf life of freeze-dried candy?
The shelf life of freeze-dried candy is typically quite long compared to regular candy due to the removal of moisture during the freeze-drying process. Properly packaged and stored freeze-dried candy can last anywhere from several months to a few years. Heat and moisture will reduce the shelf life, and change the texture and visual appearance of the candy, often reducing in size and shape and becoming less airy and crunchy.
Do you have gluten free candy options?
Yes, we do have gluten free options. Confectionery that are gluten free, remain gluten free after the freeze-drying process and will be safe to consume. Please refer to individual candy descriptions whether they are gluten free or not. We encourage each individual to do their own research on whether the candy is gluten free. Our 'gluten free' labeling is a guide only based on the original manufacturers nutritional information. All freeze-dried candy is processed in the same machine and even though after thorough cleaning, small traces of products containing gluten might be present. Due to the packaging and freeze-drying process, Sweet Celsius Candy takes no responsibility for incorrect gluten free claims.
What are the different sizes available to order?
We currently sell freeze-dried candy in a Large or Medium bag.
Large bags: 16cm x 23cm & Medium bags: 12cm x 20cm.
Some freeze-dried candy will only be offered in one size. The amount of candy you receive is based on the characteristics of the candy and the size of the bags. We do not bag according to weight. Depending on the candy, some can grow considerably in size and varies the amount we can put in the different sized bags. The prices per bag vary to take this into account.
Do we offer shipping?
Yes, Sweet Celsius Candy offers domestic shipping nationwide. We do not offer international shipping. Our shipping rates are currently based on a flat rate. This is due to the packaging requirements of the candy that needs to be shipped in boxes due to its fragile characteristics. Shipping rates are based on both weight and the size of the parcel. Despite our candy's low weight, the size of the boxes are a major factor of the current shipping costs. We will endeavor to bring the lowest possible shipping rates we can. Please refer to our shipping policy for further details and updates.
Do we offer local pickup?
Yes we do! If you are local to us you could opt during the check-out process to pick up your order from our local store in Griffin, QLD 4503. Address will be provided during the checkout process. Pick up times are currently as follows:
Tuesdays: 10:00am to 2:00 pm
Thursdays: 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Other times may be arranged on an individual basis. Please endeavor to pick up orders strictly during these hours to ensure your order is ready and there is someone here.
